Welcome to the Neighborhood!

Highland Community Builders and Highland Meadows would like to welcome its first homeowners to the neighborhood. Highland Meadows is proud to be offering a neighborhood of quality, moderately-priced homes for working families who are choosing to stay in the area to raise their children, and also those who are moving to the Elkins area.
Jamie Sexton and her 3 year old son purchased their new home after moving to the area from Arkansas. Ms. Sexton performs with the American Mountain Theater. Ms. Sexton told a Highland Meadows representative, “I love my new home; it has been such a blessing to me and my son. I just really can’t believe that we live here – it is so beautiful.” Neavoda Birchfield and her two children have just purchased the second Highland Meadows model home. Ms. Birchfield is employed by the Randolph County Dept. of Heath and Human Resources. Ms. Birchfield stated, “My son loves having his own space, his own back yard to play in, and he loves riding his bike around the neighborhood. And I feel safe letting him do it because I can keep my eye on him the whole time, and there is no thru-traffic in Highland Meadows to worry about.”
The Highland Meadows homes were built by Highland Community Builders, using many “green” building techniques. These homes were tested using HERS (Home Energy Rating System) scoring, and were found to be 25% more efficient than the average home, explained a spokesperson for Highland Community Builders. Both homebuyers stated that the projected monthly savings in utility bills was a great incentive for them to choose these homes in Highland Meadows. Ms. Birchfield mentioned that the only shock of opening her utility bills these days is how low they are.
Highland Community Builders is looking forward to an active building season with plans to start building three homes for Elkins customers this summer. Homes and lots in Highland Meadows are available to anyone, with no restrictions on who can buy or live in this new Elkins neighborhood. Come join us!
